      raise until end of year, but fall back after new year *imo* as more and more people are getting weary, alot of americans are converting back to USD, hence a short term spike in USD value.

        I do shop a lot on US websites and freak they now cost singapore around $30 more ...

                Against SGD? Or on a global basis?

                On a global basis... the USD would be the de facto currency to hold during a recession. So demand for USD wouldn't lessen during this period.

                As for vs. SGD... that depends if MAS will continue keep its monetary policy loose. Now... imports (in USD) expensive, export (SGD) cheap. But I think it'll stay around 1.5+ for the time being.
