As for me, I got to know Rolex when I was very young..like 10-11 yrs old, when my dad had a full gold Rolex king Daydate...That time we were quite well off...After which business failed, he sold it away...I know after that he very heart pain. When I grew older, got some money and savings through overseas working, I told myself I must get another Rolex for my dad and mum. Just a few years back, I got them a Exp ll and Datejust, then I bought myself a GMTll while I traded with my Corum Bubble Skeleton. Presently trying to sell away my GMTll so that I can buy a Rolex for my wife. For me without a Rolex, it's ok as long as my love ones are wearing, I am fine.present
rolex submariner
rolex explorer 2
rolex datejust
audemars piguet royal oak chrono moonphase
seiko emperor tuna
past
rolex day-date
rolex gmt 2
corum bubble skeleton
corum bubble gmt

haha.. story telling time... for me.. not sure exactly how it started.. but it began during my secondary school days time... the first rolex that caught my eyes was the Explorer I... do think of it day and night.. keep telling myself that I have to get one when I start to work and earn my own keeps... but when I started work, the first "better" watch I bought ended up to be Panerai (PAM00001)... was very much captivated by the size and the outstanding black dial... furthermore.. did not see it much on the streets.. anyway, of course, the best is that got a gd discount...... anyway, so the wait continues.... finally got enough saved again.... still like the Explorer I... but as the size (36mm) is now too small for me... I started to lean toward Explorer II..... but then spotted the Sub .... and so I found this forum and started to get the advice and help from all the wonderful ppl in here.....along the way, also spotted the SDDS... damn swee but also damn too X then) and that's about it.... bought my first rolex ....my beloved Submariner.... TA DA.....

Happy are those who wear a Rolex

One day he brought me out with him, we didn't talk. But i could feel great sadness in his face. We walked to a PawnShop just after Baliester Hill West Sch. That was last time i saw the watch. My Father never wore another Rolex again.
I meet my Wife in 1988, now after 19 years of marriage later, i got a pair of Rollie for our anniversary. My father will be 70 very soon .Guess what i am going to buy him for his 70 birthday.
for many more years.

my old man 6694
redeemed from the pawnshop during my first yr of employment 6 yrs ago for $500, it was in a jialat condition.
went to rsc to service quoted me $1500 for complete overhaul, change dial change everything!
hahaha practically a new one except for the case.
when it came out 3 weeks later, i was grinning from ear to ear, rsc did a great job! hahah for that price!
so i started researching and found out the history of rolex and then bought my 2nd rollie the exp2 telling me to quit my contract bond to explore after the remaining 2 yrs! haha i am 2 yrs late of my promise to my explorer 2. but nonetheless i will be The Explorer in 2009!
it later sparks me of to more rolexes exp1, 1680, 69173 for my wife, 4 Panerais, Omega speedmaster legend (daytona homage), JLC reverso duo(my transformer doublespy childhood dream), to some glycine, rxw and steinhart big pilot B-uhr. haha its alotsa heartaches selling some, and excitment for owning some dream piece! of course, its .....madness!!!!
