To authenticate a watch at RSC, require at least half a day

Heads up to all that wish to authenticate their watch at RSC.

Went down to them yesterday and was surprise to be told that since end of last year, to authenticate a watch at RSC, will require to leave the watch with them for at least half a day.

So in case any brothers out there that intent to authenticate before dealing, do take note. Cheers and happy Holiday

Tx for the heads-up but this has been shared here previously. Nevertheless, it's still good as a reminder. It is true that the ROLEX Service Centre (RSC) has changed their mode of verification of authenticity. In addition to just this, even a simple purchasing of a bracelet link will take you the same or several hours because they will check on the watch in question. This is my personal encounter.

This half day delay is to deter grey market. AP even worse. Takes 1 full day aka leave there overnight. Saving grace is AP service is FOC

Diff pple received diff treatment from the RSC. Some good; some bad.

Ready in 2hrs> on 2 occasion 3rd time about 3hrs<
Go off-peak and let known you need it asap.

Ready in 1hr> instead of the 2/3Hrs told when handed over.

I had the same encounter too, wanted to purchase a screw for a link waited 4 hours because they need to verify and ensure the whole watch is original!
so I started a thread on "How to get free RSC authentication"
in short, instead of paying soley for the authentication, just say you want to buy a link, they will automatically authenticate your watch, they will only sell you the link if your watch is original, otherwise no deal.
SS links (depending on model) may be the same price as the authentication fees but at least you get an extra link
