Darkangel if fund is enough , I think we book a room in some hotel with refreshment as well but than I would like to have cover charge of at least $4 sg , we shall give $2 to charity & $2 for preparation for the next one is everything runs well ! What do you think ! At the same time , for those bro that manage to sell their watch , we should charge a small fees as well like example :
1) $2000 - $100
2) $3000 - $150
Etc........
This fund is to support for the next fanactic fair . No body can excuse including organiser ....... Do you think my idea is good ?

Once again I suggest this not trying make profit out of this , I just love watches and loves to see all kinds of watches & make friends , that's all .
Last but not least I also suggest something else state below ...

1) those bros that brings in watch winder & selling them can join us , we could reserve one area for them to make the fair more meaningful

2) we should print some T-shirt to sell with all the brands like rolex , omega , patek & etc .... Of course we will get the best material so that it makes us watch fanactic stands out .....

3) we should also have one counter for some watch repairs man so that maybe some people would like to have their strap change ...

Just my 2 cent worth of thought but I think If we can do it , it's going to hit it without fail

how much does it cost to book a hotel room? i dont know how many people will be needed to cover the cost @ SGD4.

from a potential existing seller perspective, why should i contribute to the next event if i am not going to be there?

who is going to be in charge of a sealed deal @ the event? if i am a seller, after verifying the watch with buyer, i tell buyer let's go outside to deal. why? i can save the amount to be paid to the event organizer or so it called. if as seller, i can choose to deal @ event. however, this nominal sum to event, i pass this cost to buyer. then buyer can turn around to seller say deal outside, you can lower the price by the nominal amount.

remember that seller always want to sell high to maximise profit. buyer always want to buy low to minimise cost. this idea was raised before by couple of our moderators and it was the scenario i raise before to your suggestion that makes implementation hard.

the idea of setting up a stall @ flea market is more possible. however, who will like to bear the cost of asking the watch technician to turn up if there is no sale and the watch technician sits there during the time? the cost of asking the technician to station there wont be cheap.

for your point no 2 is getting in trouble with the law, without the approval from various brand I dun think you can just produce t-shirt or anything with their logo.


i somehow agree with oceanklassik that at first it's just a normal carnival style with nominal fee but now it seems like everything has to pay,who's going to be in charge of the finance and who's going to bear the additional cost if this fair exceed the budget?

I decided to contribute alittle because it was meant to chip in for the rental. Cos there's not supposed to be any fees involved for buyers & sellers.

do you mean visible as in can see the business proposal plan or is the word viable aka workable proposal.

this proposal is ok. but it has to be thought out carefully. in fact, sg-roc is currently looking into something similar, however plans are still in the infancy stage. SG-ROC is currently working with an individual to see how if things can fall in place. if anything will to materialize, it will be in Q4 hopefully.

For a trial or something, I think we can use our anniversary event as a stepping stone of sort. In addition to asking people for their attendances, we can include invitation for anyone keen to bring down their watches (even other items) to sell at the event. If it's feasible for the venue sponsor, we can seek a small space for this sale to be carried out. The amount of space needed can be determined only when we have the rough numbers of sellers. In this aspect, we start small and with little/no hassle at all. And from this or maybe few more rounds, and if successful, we can then consider Mr wong's bigger-scaled sale-cum-charity event.

in oz, we have community halls that can be rented out for half day or full weekend (sat & sun). last time when i went to sell some military memorabilia, we pay $15 for a table (those who want to have bigger stall will pay according to the number of tables!). buyers pay $2 per person.

any profits went into helping ex serviceman organisation.

Agreeded !!! But can we still held the event in the hotel ? Look we are talking about thousands of dollars with all the expensive watches that is going to be display in the fair , it's not a pasar malam thingy & if media happen to know about this , I am sure they will come & film too don't you guys agreed ? ( of course I don't want to be shown on tv ) but if we could capture their attention , if so more people will know our existence & to do a big scale next time will be much easier .
Last request , can all personel interested to meet up & maybe we could hang around somewhere to discuss about this & I think it will be much better ! I suggest Tuesday 7:00pm . What do you think ?
