I started my collection with Pilot Capless FP and Sailor FP . I find the Pilot Capless quite handy and their Medium nib is fun to write with. Sailor and Pilot produce high quality pen body and nibs.

I bought a Montblanc Meisterstruck Pen in 2011 and now the Pen clip is badly corroded. the silver ring at the middle is also badly damaged (probably due to wearing) I paid $500 retail for the pen and the quality is even lousier than Parker. I went to Montblanc outlet and they suggested me to replace each part for $150. this should be my first and last montblanc product.

There are many brands much more higher end than Mont Blanc. But...Mont Blanc is just like Rolex...you can't go wrong and must have 1 in your collection.

Any thoughts on Visconti pens? Are they really worth that much?
