Shouldn't have bought so many watches in the first place if he'd planned carefully for his son's education.

maybe the child wasnt planned? 101 reasons why he didnt put the money aside for son's college fund.

i'm not sure why the person auctioned his watches this way. i have been to university in the US - no school would ask for you to pay for the entire degree's tuition in one lump sum.

if he was genuinely interested in getting money, a smarter way would be to sell enough just to cover what is needed for each of his son's semester - the prices of his watches can only increase over time.

as another person has said in this thread - it is more prudent to sell the watches separately as it is cheaper in bulk...! rolex watches also move faster when sold singly...

maybe this auction was just for kicks?
