Where and how to get a Hermes Kelly?

Wife like this but I know nuts about bags. Don't even know how much this is!

Furthest I would travel to get this is HK (day trip). I heard local store got to order and wait indefinitely (like Daytona from AD in 2007).

Any recommendation?

cost of a kelly or birkin is very dependent on leather and hardware. there is exotic skin (croc, lizard etc, leather such as calf, goat etc)For leather there are texture & smooth varieties. for hardware there are god, palladium, ruthenium and guilloche.

Come in sizes 20, 25, 28, 32 & 35 and preference of rigide or souple and almost any colour you can think of.
Waiting list on the average of what i understand is about 1 year of coz i could be wrong.

so the cost of the bag range is rather wide depending on the combi, from what i understand, range is 10+ to 60+ or more.

i have heard of certain shops in Jap that sells authentic kelly or birkin without the waitlist but at a higher premium, else you might be lucky there is 1 spare sitting in the botique.

Thanks lady. This info is more mind boggling then buying watch. Looks like need to custom order since so many different configaration to decide. If buy from store depends on luck (like getting a 372 or 339).

As for price 10K to 60K is quite mad. I have heard about the Birkin and was told this Kelly is the cheaper sister but 10K to 60K doesn't sound cheaper to me! Dear or dear...this bag cost more than a Daytona or 339 or Leica! This is sad to hear.

Hermes is some women's holy grail.. think you would be able to get the most basic one below 10, (size, leather, hardware)
there are license 2nd handshops in SG that also have birken and kelly. last one i seen is a Kelly 25, taupe clour leather rigide for $11.8K(brand new). the bright side, since its rather customisable, every women's birken or kelly is almost unique compare to a daytona..

of coz what ever is on the shelf of the botique, its up to your luck on whether it tickles your fancy or in this case your missus.

Getting a birkin or Kelly is similar to getting a daytona in our rolex language hahaha. But I dont really see a pt paying a premium for it.

If u ask me, branding wise, Chanel is slightly higher end than Prada. Both very good brands, Prada is less common but value for money if u ask me. Chanel is getting a little common, ESP their 2.55.

trust me. this pursuasion is not a long term fix. if she wants an hermes bag, she will get one sooner or later. might as well be sooner than later.

these bags can be used for a very long time anyway, so think of it as buying a rolex... : ) my mom still has her first birkin from decades back.

Birkins to a lady is like a rare Patek to a man.....extremely hard to find and even if you have the cash, it's hard to get the stocks - unless you're a regular at Hermes. But I heard Paris has a Hermes boutique where they display all the Birkins and Kellys they have without hidding the stocks.

My lady went gaga searching for the Hermes recently in Europe when we were there. And yes it is the holy grail and I too honestly believe it is only a matter of time before she gets it's. This year alone, she already bought like 1 Dior, Prada, some LVs and 1 Chanel 2.55. She is getting another Chanel from Europe currently. Nothing is gonna stop her

That's scary. Found Hermes not very versatile. Good for ball and night function but not a shopping and normal weekender.
