So what even if they know who voted for or against. If the percentage is 45% against in a constituency of 100000 people....that's 45000 people. What can they do to 45000 residents.

Last election got 30+% voted for Opposition, also never see 30% of Singaporean getting into trouble with the gahman.

Well, thou that 30% Singaporeans didnt get into trouble, by knowing who vote who, can help the ruling party study the vote, so that they can group them into GRCs... Why do u think they hv GRC? becos the ruling party themselves do not have enough "A" team candidate. So if MM Lee stand in in Tanjong Pagar with 4 other idiots, what will happen? Might as well put TPL there so she confirm guarantee her $15k monthly salary...

1. cos their reputation will b badly damage if anyone evers find out the check who voted who. and the world will b laughing at us if the day ever comes.
2. the serial no is there to make sure every singaporean only vote ONCE..
