No choice. No one dare to take on the old wise man, but there's a slim chance that "Party de Reform" may contest from what I read.

Politics can be considered as the second oldest profession. However, it does share a lot of similarity to the oldest.

Interesting, three hundred over folks had viewed this thread, yet there is only 8 votes in the poll. Maybe this shows a lot of people are still sitting on the fence.

Maybe this time round, if the ruling party lose 1 or 2 GRC, we will each get a rolex, cos they need to win some vote the next round !
Like what my friend always say , if wanna get more money must vote opposition, only than the PAP will give more money the next round ! LOL............

Simple. Would you rather have 1 AD that sells Rolex or 3 ADs that sell Rolex? If only 1 AD sell, discount and selection very limited.

                        Politics is about power.

Whether the opposition forms the next government or the present party continues to rule, the outcome is still the same.
As of now, I doubt the opposition is capable of forming the next government but I can put all my rolexes and my only PAM on bet, that a balance in power with enough alternative voices will be able to move mountains.

The government is elected by the people, to represent and look after its citizens.
I think the ruling party has diverted a little too far off from this fundamental.

                        My wishlist:
                        - affordable housing for all citizens
                        - reduce and be selective with foreign imports
                        - reduce medical and education costs
                        - remove ERPs
                        - reduce GST back to 5%
                        - make NS compulsory for all PRs and new citizens
                        - Independent Bureau for State Reserves
                        - a proper Union that is independent of the government

Careful for what you wish for. at the moment aussie politics is in a pickle. out of all the federal seats, we have 3 MPs who hold the balance of power in the upper and lower house.

that means, australia's balls are controlled by this 3 politicians. based on their vote and beliefs. funnily enough, they were never voted to exert power, but tip the balance against the gov't to "keep the bastards honest".

sometimes having too much power/not enough power on one side can backfire and fail badly.

The present govt has gone off course, we need to vote for the alternative parties to wake them up from their sleep in their ivory towers. The saddest day of my life would be oppositions fail to take any of the GRCs in this GE. Anyways, 90% of friends I know of and opened enough to discuss politics with me will cast their votes against the PAP. Some of them voted the PAP last GE and expressed their regrets. We are powerless over the people we've empowered, so ironic!

Well said guys. The ruling party have indeed gone too far off course of what they had promised - to serve Singaporeans. Its seems like they r serving FTs now more than Singaporeans' needs. GRCs must be won by oppositions in this GE to help Singaporeans, especially the lower income group. I guess those surfing this forum beings to the middle or higher income group. So pls help our fellow Singapoeans who r of lower income survive in our own country land, rather than letting FTs over-populate our land...
