I've just voted for the Globemaster. cmsoh said it right. If this is a IWC forum, my choice would have been different.

I noted the 1 to 2k comment. We all have different tolerance level before we really have to sit down and think about the purchase. Personally, my tolerance level would be about 1k.

Yes, I would pay abt 1k to get the globemaster.... But thats provided the cost of the watch itself is ard 500-600. then plus the customization and stuff.. abt 1k is reasonable... But first we need to know the cost of all the 3 watches... So, any idea how much each model will cost after customization?

depending on the level of customisation... price varies.. maybe we should poll on a suitable price range tat is agreed by everyone.. then we work around the agreed price range. otherwise, if we decide on watch but the price range is not agrred by everyone, we will be back to square one.

Guys... the 3 watches that are shown on the first thread is way less than 1k

The 1-2k ones are the 'offered' ones from the very reputable manufacturers.

If the drift is towards having a homage watch to celebrate the occasion, may
I suggest that we look at the Steinhart homage GMT and submariner, both with ETA movements, and 42mm in diameter. You can see the watch at
http://www.gnomonwatches.com/SteinhartGMTOcean1Red.html, about USD430 for the submariner and USD570 for the GMT.
