  • Rollie for my to be new born son

My son will be born in June this year. I'm thinking of buying him a Rolex, a GMT IIc, to celebrate this special day... and give it to him when he grows up. It's good idea right.

The question how do we ensure the watch exact (or somewhat close) date of production? And how long a new rolex takes to reach our shore after it's made? I don't wanna buy a watch that is made in 2010 and tell my son next time that this watch was made 'around' the same year you were born. It defeats the purpose

with alphanumeric series, there is current no way of knowing which year or period produced. with alphabet series, at least there is a period.

one possible solution is that you buy the watch and stamp the warranty card on the day he is born. this can be arranged between you and your AD if you have good working relationship.

if you need help in this, i may be able to assist in stamping the date(within couple of days of son's date of birth)

As bro triton says, no way to know the production year.

But I think it is very possible to get the warranty stamped
      With the date of birth.

Tell the AD. Book the watch and chop after birth to get exact date

You "make" your baby while enjoying yourself, and now you want a bigger enjoyment by wearing his rolex without asking him...how can like that
