Vertu - newbie askinng silly questions

just additional info......

(1) changing the leather of the phone cost u whopping near $1000 plus and takes abt 2 months.

(2) upgrade the software or more precisely they call it upgrade the engine also cost the equivalent to above

(3) they use to have a substitute replacement phone same model as yours if u send in yours for repairs , upgrading or servicing but down the road this service seems to disappear.

(4) batteries are exactly the same as certain nokia models just a printed vertu logo and u pay near to $200 for a battery.

Yes optional, as long u dun ask them to continue the conceige service u need not pay.



seriously no need it la. my first year i dun even use the service. why?...... example...

middle of the night u feel like eating cha kuey tiao, u called the conceige to send u to your house. Yes vertu promised their conceige service is best and will accede your request like impossible mission but they did not tell u the guy sending u the cha kuey tiao will probably charge u $100 for it......haha

i believe the conceige service wld be more relevant when u are desperately in need of help in oversea.



not exactly bro, just sell off the first one then buy the other one...losses is inevitable... is like playing watches. sometimes just need to sell then can get another piece. So now i stick to this model and stop playing vertu already. Insane price too.

Agreed, I think it's more useful if you are stranded in Jp now and you want to get out immediately, they can get you outta there. But at what cost...sometimes it maybe quite scary, I have a feeling it doesn't come cheap.

My SA quoted me about 800 to change leather and takes about yeah 1-2 mths cos they send it to HK.

And the batteries I think cost around $400-500.

gosh that's insane....this is the phone that really needs a lot of $$ to maintain it....

If no problem, the phone is fine....if got problem...IF...then it's quite alot of money needed.

Yes i agree... maybe in distress situations like stranded in Japan now , they can sure get u out in a way...but the price and tickets and the personalised services comes at skyprice.

They are some ppl who criticises, condemm this phone so be prepare to accept remarks like... u crazy spend $8k buy this phone? i can buy a rolex! can go pawn shop ? got gold inside? wat so special? my iphone 10 times better.....blah blah....

Then of couse there are some nice words like........... is a beauty, very gorgeous, uniquely different from the other phones, nice may i feel it?, wow like a piece of art, great taste, so n so....

Is just like watches and cars some like it some dun. Some of my replies to the above negative remarks are.....

ya not worth it, u better dun buy (just to agree).... or your wife wears diamonds? few thousands for a piece of stone!..... or u spend $10k modify your car? can fly meh?....or keep your money in the bank and get peanut interest! ....or u saving up for a gold coffin?.....or wearing so many jewelleries does not make u more pretty either.....or u spend so much buying pills and vitamins to eat can live forever? and so so so

I alw think we live once neber noe tommorrow wat will happen like the Japan sufferings, jus enjoy your life when u can.

yes agree... that is why china economy is in top form. west is so afraid of them and keep pressing china for stronger reminbi. Asian countries have been paying too much money to western countries for their products and so call excellent 'workmanship'..... exceptional are items like watches and handphones the west are still the best.

i still believe that the vertu whilst crafted in the west; would still have components (PCB and associated parts) that are manufactured in the far east.

my friends best. missus ask what time they will be home. they reply "half past!". and when the missus ask "half past what?!". the answer is "whenever!"

My wife...if I behave well, allow me to go one gtg with car friends and one gtg with watch friends a year. Last year, I only attended one gtg at Indoor stadium. This year hoping to turn up for one. Ha
