Feilong108 - I have the same resolution as you! *No Watch Purchases til 2012*

But my heart is breaking/aching/dying for a Milguass GV; kept telling my fiancee that the Millie will be my last ever. But never say never right? hahah..

P.s. I own 6 Serious Mechanical Watch so far; and (hopefully) it will remain that way at least until 2012.

hahaha so true. Its never enough, but it'll be good to have 1 watch for everyday wear and another for the special occasions.

you only need one...but all of us won't have that self control to implement it.

watches for different occasions? lol, just lame excuses to own more.

                To date.
8 Rolexes, 4 full gold , 4 stainless steel, all individualistic in their own sense.
All for keeps not for flip.
I usually buy what i know i want to keep

Sub bot new watch palace in 1998 (wore one watch for everything until 2006)
Explorer 2 bot new time place in 2006 then sold in 2010 becos hardly wore.
Daytona SS bot new in watch palace 2006
Explorer 2 bot again in 2011?
Datejust SS bot and sold off in 2011?
Daydate vintage bot and sold off in 2011?
                Daydate champagne bot in 2012
Gold Gmt2c bot Dickson in 2012
                Datejust SS bot in 2012

Personally for me i hope to have around 10. Currently got 4 n 6 more to go but to be honest to a watch lover having few is nv enough. If having more oso wont tink is too much. Maybe is the interests n passion i guess. Ending up might sell off few to get another holy grail piece.

I find 3-4 to be a nice number to rotate around (excluding beaters/novelty watches etc)

I think my "collection" really started to increase quicker after i began buying preowned.
In the past always bought new from ADs....

I have 20 but have decided to narrow it down to 15 or less.

The more the merrier, i have abt 20 watches, and still manage to find the "proper" wrist time for each watch. In fact i feel there are still some days which i dun have matching watch.

In my opinion, 3-4 to wear.
And for watch lovers/ enthusiasts/ collectors to have another, as many as one can afford comfortably to own and upkeep.

Even to rotate 3 watches is already tough for me.

Some watches are only to be appreciated but never worn it

That's like asking how many women are enough for me. Perhaps I'm still young.
