Yeah a mid size g-shock is good...and cheap...with practical backlight some more.

go with a cheap black watch till u get posted to unit and then decide again. any flashy watch will only attact thieves, especially the bright tritium kind, don't think about that until unit where u really get to know the people you're stuck with.fallraen

Good to have something that light up at night to see time.
Luminox works but not sure its durable enough.
All time favourite is still casio g shock.
Rubber strap is more comfortable during field and PTs.
Unless you are going to be No. 3 grade then no issue la.
