yes, im aware what you are saying. if there is growth but they only cater to specific resolution or brand. it may lose market share eventually because people will give bad review and hence deter new users. this will result in the opposite movement of market share
many people were hesitant using apple in the past because of one reason or another. but look at what happen now? apple changed direction and looks @ the positive reviews that were written and encourage more users to switch. more and more people did the switch.
i was one of the pro nokia users and i made the switch. i recently bought a HTC desire HD. however, there are not many apps especially games that are available for this model. now, i am still waiting for the apps that i have used on iphone to make a crossover. im not sure how long it will take, but if the wait is too long. i will revert to iphone.

I am not sure I understand the issue you mentioned about Android being catered only to specific resolution or brand...
Since the early version 1.6, Android is capable of running on a variety of devices that offer a range of screen sizes and resolutions. As such, for applications, the Android platform provides a consistent environment across devices and handles much of the complexity of adapting an application's UI to the screen on which it is being displayed.
Starting in Android 2.2, the platform supports extra high density screens (xhdpi), and starting in Android 2.3, the platform supports extra large screens (xlarge).
Your example of some iphone apps/games not available on Android phones, is due to that the developer has not developed the same apps/games for Android platform, and not due to the different resolution between iphone and other phones. Similarly, a console games developer has to develop two different softwares for a same game to be used on a XBox and Playstaton as they operate on different platform.
In some cases it could be that the particular game or app is developed for and licenced (usually for a certain period only) to iphone/Apple only. If there is no such exclusivity issue, an apps/games initially designed for one platform will appear in other platform as soon as they become popular.Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one

the fact still remains that there are apps that is available for download but are not working on various android phones. as such the inability to run such apps MAY result in user making a switch away from android.
certain apps must pay in iphone but not andriod and vice versa.

Seems like not many members here are interested in this topic, although everyone owns (at least) a mobile phone? So I am not wrong in thinking that most people buy a mobile phone without really knowing what they are getting, apart from the look, price, and what everybody else is having...?

yup..i know...but my previous handset which was the 6610i died on me after 4 years...so change to the current e71 til now...
To me the more high tech a handset the more chances that the phone will have issues...so far in grand total of 7 years i have two nia...Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak
