Without having read through all the previous posts and in my capacity as a very new member of the forum and to horology, I honestly think it boils down to individual differences, i.e., there'll always be people who're mature, and those who're not, in comparison to your median expectation.
That said, i think it could be possible that the person(s) perceive the members of this forum to be less matured, or in the know about such stuff, simply because it is so. And I don't say that with any ill intent - in fact, it is testament to the success of this forum that new members like me who cannot differentiate between a hairspring and a hairpin and think rehaut is a drink can come and post, and ask questions, and still be tolerated, and even welcomed.Comment
