Most important rule: Make friends. Most of the folks quite accomodating, they know reservists won't go all out. But at least try to cooperate with them. They'll take care of you too. ie, leave you alone for eg ... or other side benefits.
I once spent an entire exercise sleeping in airconditioned comfort, courtesy of the doctors.
