Actually I am very reluctant to change my Notebook (although it is functioning extremely well except for the occassional RAM deficiency...)

ASUS users would know the Wseries only hv 1 slot and I've already MAX-ed up the capacity that was available then.. any higher RAM to be changed now will probably face an incompatibility with the board I reckon..

The reluctant to get a new machine is bcos of the BLOODY MS OS loh.. I think Vista sucks and it still have loads of problems + Bloody inefficient OS threading (embedded programmers will know what I mean).. HEnce I feel more comfortable on the EVER RELIABLE XP (I adore the 2000 OS until XP was totally stabalised).

Either I endure the RAM issue NOW on my Asus W5F till Vista bcos efficient and stable OR bite the bullet and go for an upgrade now....

But BRO.. if you look at their website hor.. On the NEWER models running on Vista, they did state that XP drivers not available leh..... I too did toy with the idea of Installing XP on a new Notebook (more current models lah)

Have you considered Fujitsu Lifebook S series? I am currently using it and it is great. With 3GB RAM inside, (albeit Vista kinda sucks) I can run vmware (3 virtual W2003 servers running at the same time), Outlook, VPN, VNC, P2P downloads, AIM, MSN and Internet Explorer (always with 6 tabs opened). The latest 6510 S series has really good specs. http://www.fujitsu.com/sg/services/c....5g/specs.html
If you are looking for a light and simple laptop for e-mails, surfs and simple docs, try the ASUS EEE PC 1000H. Great price for it's specs...Intel ATOM 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM (upgradable to 2GB for only S$99), 80GB HDD and 1.3kg only.
                  Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116520 M
                  Rolex GMT-Master II 116710 M
                  Rolex GMT-Master I 16700 U
                  Rolex Explorer II 16570 Z
                  Rolex Air-King 114200 M
                  Omega SeaMaster
Tag Heuer 6000 series, 90's Swatch watches, Seikos and Russian watches
