come to think of it i thought of another scenario: the seller claiming that his watch was stolen and made a police report but actually it was sold to a buyer.
has and buyer here experience this?

                      some buyers are so scary.

ask them try to make a report after a few mths that their bride actually have additional spare parts (or lack of if vice versa ) and see what happens.

Their fault if never check system first mah. reckon that for some things cannot sample first tho. . after so long in their hands, they could have done lots of stuff with the item and then just try to sabo cos of buyer's remorse..
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........

wow..i so far encountered a few buyer remorse cases...i simply ask them politely to re-list the watches for sale in our forum here...

Becoz for me personally, if i buy a watch and after a while i suddenly have lack of interest in the piece i simply sell at a massive loss just to have the timepiece to go to a good home...

I hate too see my watches sitting there with no love for them..

                        Cheers,

                              Interesting topic.

I think the rule of thumb is that once the deal is completed and watch physically changes hand, the seller has the right to not entertain any claim of scratches/dings/damages on the watch or claim of watch being non-authentic, unless there is prior agreement that the buyer is allowed to come back by certain time for those mentioned issues. Such agreement is not common though, and usually takes place only if the buyer and seller know each other quite well (i.e. experienced seller and his regular buyer).

Otherwise the seller can always say: "How do I know what happened to the watch within that few days (or hours) during when in the ownership of you (the buyer)?"

Which is also why the common practice is that any authentification, if required by the buyer, is usually carried out at the service centre with the present of both buyer and seller prior to the deal.

Just speaking from my experience...and common sense
Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one

Never political, seldom diplomatic, always honest
