  • Free instalment plan encourages over spending. Pls use it knowing fully it's risks.
Even if you think....since it's interest free, use it and then invest the cash. This means you are already presupposing the investment is a gain. If you lose, would be double whammy.

At least 40% profit margin I reckon. No modern business can survive on low profit margins anymore. Just look at their grand shop front and number of sales person to feed, how "low" can their profits be?

Assuming you took a 1 yr installment plan, so monthly you pay 700. After paying yr first installment of 700, then you will be able to swipe up to $700 nia after yr first installment is paid

If you have 12k credit limit, then you have 3.6k balance on yr cc limit.

I wun consider it locked up lah..
im too poor to swipe a rolex on my credit card

To TS cortina, THG n Sincere all have credit card installment plan, discount vary from watch models... THG provide the longest plan of 24months, the rest is 12months.

Those who can afford to buy watches w/o needing to use the credit card/easy payment, are definitely the wealthier lot..

              • Maybe I am wrong in saying Rolex's profit margin is "low". It is subjective. Some people think that 40% is high, some think it is low. I should have said relatively low when compared to other brands.

One thing is for sure, those so-called interest-free plans are actually not interest-free... very expensive one... Can anyone can confirm that we
can use interest-free installment plan for buying rolex???

                • Yes, can. It's not tied to the watch brand but the watch company. If Hour Glass provides easy payment, you can use it on purchase of any brand they carry. Of course then, discount will vary.

a luxury product is just that, only purchase with idle cash.

                          • GST, NETS, Credit Card

                            Guys,

How many of you face this situation when buying stuff nowadays?

                            Pay $A if cash
Pay $B if card (most likely 2%)

                            OR

                            Pay $A + 7% GST

The recent SITEX show created a buzz and with such a big scale show; sure to have complaints.

A guy was charged 7% extra (claimed to be GST by the shop at SITEX) and it was then found at another shop; the price published should be the retailed RRP (inclusive of GST). This is when someone found out that all GST registered companies are not allowed to published prices excluding GST.

At the same time; someone posted at HWZ that NETS once mentioned merchant are not supposed to pass the charges to consumers; same goes for credit card companies, so where does this brings us?

Anyone can confirm the NETS and CC portion? GST one is confirmed cos I checked at IRAS site already.
