Yes (ADs can arrange). No (not common by buyers here).

It's personal preference actually. I would say 50-50 la.

Some are willing to pay cash on the spot to get the extra discount. Some prefer to pay monthly so it would not hurt their wallet at 1 go.

All ADs have 0% interest installment plans with selected banks. You can go down and check with them.

substantial pain at one go or constant pain for extensive periods of time. only u can decide for yrself. i personally prefer one shot pay the amt and enjoy the watch. if i am unable to clear payment at one go, chances are i cannot afford it. back to saving $$$ for it.

Maybe some actually can afford to pay off one-shot, but leverage on the interest-free scheme, free the spare cash for some short-term investments ?

            Just like buying hse/car

            Just my guessing ...

Yup, quite true. But if the cash or 1 shot credit payment can save more $$$, why opt for instalments when ur cash in the bank dun earn enough interest to make up for the diff u pay by instalments.
              Just my 2cents.

yeah .. easily burnt if one does not have the discipline, 'cos temptation out there is very strong you see so many branded boutiques landed along Orchard stretch ... and LV @ taka is always crowded !

Branded boutique does not mean that..will get easily burnt and ppl hav no discipline.

That's just 1 side of the story

say you are getting a $12k Rolex, sometimes it is quite heart ache to see ur saving account down by that significant amount which you took years to save.

if its interest free, why not? Firstly its easy at hand and you do not get a 'heart attack' when you look at your bank account.

To stretch your dollars further, you can down a lump sum and take up a 12 months interest free credit card installments.

eg for a GMT IIc which cost around $12k,

Rather than a lump sum of $12k, u can down half of it $6k, and spread your 12 months installment which will set you back $500 a month. Pretty affordable IMO.

U can to get your dream watch earlier than expected and beat that yearly Rolex 'inflation'!

However you need to be discipline as installment will mean that you are incurring a fixed expenses every month on top of your other misc expenditures.

BTW keep the installment tenure to 6 to 12 months. If u need 24 months to pay it off, i reckon that you put off the purchase till u have save a decent amount.

As mentioned by Red Devil, you can leverage ur remaining cash into other investment for real wealth accumulation, where such opportunity cost will be lost should you have use your 'whole' saving on that one special watch.
