there are also shops that sell samurai swords in singapore but those are modern made blades for display purposes only, not wartime, they are expensive too saw some at $2K to $3K. not worth in my opinion.
even these you have to show IC and I think they submit your details to police.
teen gangs only use a $20 chopper to hack people. those choppers are hard to control because they are easily available at any provision shop.My 18K Gold Day Date "President" Collection:

modern aged swords are not my cup of tea. something isnt right about them, unless you are using them as intended such as practising, into sword martial arts, or hacking up people . Once over at cannington racegrounds (those who have been to perth will know!) there was a hall, full of militaria items. in one particular a booth was set up, where people could bring their blades, and chop dried grass bundled up together. one fella down under, is a swordsmith, and his blade in particular caught my eye due to its sharpness. by the time the blade had followed thru, the hay only started to drop towards the ground. just imagine that particular blade in the wrong hands
actually for blades, depends on the steel and forging method. also the quality of the edge counts. back in the day, my old man would perfect the method of sharpening the swords, literally one inch at a time. i should try on my parang the next time i bring out the sharpener
