I hope to get 2 watches next year....if I can afford.
1. Either a 1655 or 1665.
2. Either a wg Lange 1 or patek 5926 or 5711.
Let's bring this up again since 2011 is nearing...
Part of no. 1 found. So, it's only one of the no. 2 and the other piece in no. 1 for 2011. Keeping to only this is a challenge.
If vintage prices are dropping, then for watch lovers like myself, it is the best time to get good pieces and reasonable prices, for e.g., > 15 year old Rolex sport models, the Omega pre-Moonwatches Cal. 321 and 861s. If I can get them at sub S$3000 would be ideal...
I would also look at understated brands like Stowa and Lum-tec.
i guess i've dithered a bit on the 4th watch ..but i've certainly shortlisted the first 3:
1. JLC Master Control Memovox
2. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
3. Hublot Big Bang Cappucino in 18k gold
4. MBF/RM/Cvstos/Lange/Moser - still undecided
cheers

Pre-moon 861 sub 3k still possible. Are you sure can find 321 at sub 3k? I always see around 5k. Difficulty is finding one in good condition.
IMHO, MKII Watches (Bill Yao) is a young company that is really doing some great job on the watches... it is not that well-known yet but in time to come, people will appreciate the superb job the company does on the watches. I am waiting for the Kingston to be out on the pre-owned market...
