Folks, the FTs ie PRCs, filipinos etc are everywhere ubiquitous is the word for it. I can only think of 2 things tat i did NS for:

1. To do 2 + yrs and let e ladies have a headstart
2. To protect e FTs and they in return take our ricebowl.

Y? Cos they are cheaper. In fact I have seen so much PRCs workin in foodcourt some selling Cha Kway Teow. I remember one time I went foodcourt to order chicken rice, upon seein she look like local I order in Hokkien, Kueh Berng, e lady look at me and ask me in a heavily beijing accented mandarin wat I want... sigh...

like one of the staff that i was working with, he manage to get his PR before he come for day 1 of work makes you wonder what type of nonsense this is.

you know i was thinking since everyone abuse the system, i *could* also technically abuse the system by applying for s'pore PR, no NS, access to HDB housing, and enjoy all the perks, all whilst keeping my Oz citizenship. So I have unlimited access to your country.
Once have PR, i can work/play/rest all at your expense........... really make you sick in the stomach

One thing that I totally agree is that there is not much perks to differentiate between citizens and PRs... Apart from the HDB and the occasional "rebates", I can't think of much else. Oh yeah, the NS bit... :P

maybe i should just join these "PR applicants" just apply for the sake of applying, somemore get treated as a 1st class citizen when locals are treated worse.

and citizens get the sg passport, PRs dun have that iirc, and as such, so technically one can easily keep their old citizenship and have a PR, making the travel very easy.

if you are born a local..then too bad..

you cannot just go overseas and come back as a FT, garment will not issue you a PR..

for FTs, their sons can leave singapore before 18 to avoid NS..go study few years then garment will still welcome them back as FT again.

for locals, if you leave without permit at 18 years old..come back changi airport kenna arrested..

actually it is not the NS that is bad, it is the yearly reservice that is annoying. I do not mind serving two years, but serving two years and reservice every year until 40 is pretty damn irritating

correct lor..why they issue PR like giving out free tissue paper?

for UK, even more difficult to get PR. Employers need to prove that they are unable to employ any locals for 6 months before they can hire FTs.

locals really being too complacent liao..they served NS, reservist liao then FTs get all the perks with no string attached..recession liao also can go back china become a rich man..

even malaysia PR also not so easy to get..u need to put 70k SGD into maybank etc before they give u a PR..singapore PR 50 lollor..

but no 2yrs how to reservist? eitherway you need the 2yrs to train you and descipline you, then maybe every 5yrs reservice
