  • Buyers in Perth, Australia?

    Hi all

I'm heading to Perth, Australia in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone can recommend a dealer in Perth who buys Rolex? I only know about The Swiss Watch Box, so far.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thank you.

I would be looking to sell in Perth, not buy. I'd be selling a new Milgauss GV and maybe a near-new Explorer 1 (36mm).

What do you intend to sell? And what price are you after?

Perth prices are not that competitive *imo*. You may have better luck selling in sg prior to coming to perth.

as for dealers, the main one for buying watch is the swiss watch box. there are pawnshops that take in selected pieces, but they require full box/papers/etc.

Melbourne is where you would want to go, afterall there is alot more buyers there.

I might have a new Milgauss GV to sell and I understand the local retail price is AUS$9,250.

I just want to make sure it's worth the hassle and then making sure I find a buyer... I'd like to keep the GV but it might be better to sell it. I have 2 watches at the moment and that's kind of enough!

If your GV is in good nick, I may have a private buyer for you. it will be his first watch (of any kind; he got poisoned by my 16233 )

It would be brand new with stickers on - box and papers of course too. I'd be looking for a fair price - nothing too outrageous.

Let me know if they might be interested or PM me to discuss more.

                  Thanks

sure thing, everyone wants to pay/receive a fair price for their goods. last time there was a dealer from QLD who travelled around the country buying up watches, and jewellery. He offered me $1k for my mint 6694.

Exp 1 he took in at A$1500; condition was used i reckon about 70%, no box/papers. That should give you an idea of what prices are being offered about. A guesstimate 116400GV maybe A$4-5k is what dealers would pay.

Best bet, is you go private sale. Roughly when will you arrive in perth? If enough time, maybe can meet up to discuss further.

Also how are you going to carry the watch past customs? BNIB with stickers i think you may slugged with GST.

If the max for a brand new GV is A$5,000 then I'd lose about A$1,900 on the deal! I'll wait to hear from Darren...

Those are my estimates, im not sure what others pay. But yeah, see what Darren will offer you.

If you want to sell in Perth, you need to understand the market here. In oz, we like our boats, jetski's, cars, etc. whilst the pond for watch enthusiast is growing, aussies in general are not the type of buy watches because we have other hobbies taking up our funds.

That makes a lot of sense. I'll be in London before Christmas too, so I might buy something tax-free in London and sell in Singapore.

                          Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Darren very kindly replied but he has enough stock right now.

If I can find a private buyer for a new GV, then it might be worth it still. But there's no point spending my holiday running around and trying to track down a buyer...

Thanks again for your comments and advice.
