Qantas plane in trouble over Indonesia, no crash: official

BATAM, Indonesia: - A Qantas plane is experiencing engine trouble over Indonesia and is circling to use up its fuel before it attempts to land, an Indonesian official said Thursday.

Earlier reports said the Singapore-bound plane crashed near Indonesia's Batam island. Witnesses reportedly heard an explosion over the island.

Being that the air stewardess recently being in the mile high scandal; could be the maintenance crew too busy with something else.

My best guess is a piece of foreign object aka FOD(industry term) was ingested into the engine causing the fan blade to twist out of its location thus causing the damage to the engine. This being the case, some of my friends working for the airport will be very busy for the next few days. These will be the lucky ones. The unlucky ones will be idling at home till they find some other employment.
