Just sharing, just got back to office from jwatch after watch hunting.

Wow, there was a queue even before the shop opened and too bad for me, the 4 people in front were also after the same watch

The Tag Heuer Formula 1 grande date gg for $580 (excluding GST).

Anyone else had such an experience where in a rare occasion, some watch shops sell watches at really really bargain prices but you still miss the chance

    next time I better go Q at 1130 :P
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........

Yeah, been in the same situation before.
Once I started queueing at 11am at JW for a limited edition Laco. Just stand there like fool and play PSP until the shop open. Gradually at 11 plus a queue started to form, all after the same watch...

I had near similar experience once with JW. Saw this watch for sale and wanted to get it. Arrived at JW the next day, before their opening hour (at 12.30pm). I thought I was early because it was only 12.15pm when I arrived. To my astonishment, it was already opened and near full with customers..

I was unhappy because a day before, I called and enquired about the watch and their opening hours. And I was told that they only opened at the stipulated timing. It wasn't so.

Anyway, I was lucky I didn't buy that watch (it was sold before I walked in). I later found out the watch is available in most watch shops in Singapore, and cheaper some more.

icic, sounds like a bad experience there.

hmmm, today they really only open at 1230 despite them already being inside the shop. The only gripe I have with them is stating nett on their webbie but is exclusive of GST.

so have to keep donig my maths to know if the price I pay is worth anot. so far, rarely saw prices after adding GST is much much diff as compared to what grey dealer or preowned pieces are selling in forums. However, have to admit like in this case, the price was really good.

Yah, just stood right at the door playing Tekken.
Actually there was this chap who got there earlier than me but he was waiting at Han's Cafe so Mrs Wong decided to sell me the watch instead.

I know (for a long time) JW practises this: they do not include the 7% GST and you'll always have to add that amount onto the prices you see online. And the price is only when you pay in cash. I recalled previously when the Submariner 16610 was selling at about 7.7k-7.9k in the local ADs, JW was also selling at that price, but hvn't included GST..

So if you add 7% onto 7.9k and have to pay only in cash, who would you have bought from? At that time, you can still choose to pay in credit card and/or installment with the ADs, at NO EXTRA CHARGE..

When I was planning on buying my Sub from them, I was so nervous thinking someone else would get it before me. My flight landed in the morning and I had a few hours to spare before they opened. After what I thought was an eternity, waiting, I finally reached (10 mins late) only to find that there were a few customers already inside. Thankfully they weren't looking for a Sub and I finally managed to get my hands on it

haha queue a bit ok la. see how much cheaper loh.

lets say $200 cheaper, you queue 1 hr.

opportunity cost $200/hr. if you make > $200/hr then not worth it.

lunch hour is different, early lunch also different...
