Arising from the "Do you like to be noticed" thread, thought of sharing something interesting and see what you guys think of it....

How affected are you when your bosses wear anything but lesser of a Rolex?

each to his own, doesnt bother me as long as I don intentionally flout it in the office.

Some bosses drive BMW, MERCs, stay in Condos, eat at restaurants everyday and plays golf every weekend but doesnt wear a watch or wears a seiko. but to be honest, what is a Rolex to such rich people.

If they see and become unhappy about you, then I think it might be time to look for a new job anyway. why work for such a petty boss?

I mean, everyone have their own spending habits on things that they enjoy.

He can wear a cheapo watch and i will still respect him if he is able to deliver what he preach in work. if he wears a $100000 watch and cannot deliver in his work, he will lose his respect nevermind the watch.

My ex-boss wears a swatch. Current one wears a tt lady just. Both ladies.

No issues on my end. He had made clear he does not buy watches above 3 digits. He saw my watches, admires them but it does not affect our work life.

Main thing is not to show off or think lesser (vice versa) of a person just based on the watch one wears. Everyone should have their opinion on wat to splurge on. :-)

Come to think of it, the partial influence of my getting onto this watch hobby was because of my bosses..

my chairman never buy watches.. he got 2 rolex milgauss. all given by his sons on his birthday. but he change cars like mad cos paid by company and play golf almost 3-4 times a week with ministers in the morning.

Like what everyone is trying to say here, most of the time the bosses wear a non-expensive watch by their own choice, so there is no reason for them to be "red eye".

Unless in situation where both you and the boss are the low-average income group and then you wear a very flashy expensive watch then maybe he will TL a bit.

There are weird people lah...on day 2 when my new boss took over when I was working in a foreign bank...he told me to change my watch. It was a dress down friday and I happen to be wearing a Submariner. He's nowhere near low avg income...just funny people around

definitely man.... some guys take things differently. i had one girl come up to me at my last job and mentioned that not many sales associates wear such a watch. i was sporting my standard dj; i even wore it to the interview for god sake
