  • HELP!....Any place to service/fix a 6497 movement?

    Dear bros,

I have a watch running on a 6497 movement that has stopped running. Wondering if any bro knows anywhere that will service or fix this movement in SG?

    Thanks in advance!

Feilong, have you personally used the service or bought any watches from this place before? (And yes I am awere that the bro is also an active private dealer here...)

Thanks bro feilong for the recommendation but end up i didnt use their service cos firstly....it cost more than the cheap cheap CHEAP chinese movement itself....so i dun see the point of repairing it...and secondly...they dun even have the proper tools to open the watch case...so another nono for me....dun get me wrong, i'm not here to create a flaming session, juz my personal experience there but end up i got my 6497 movement service for less than half the price offered....i'm happy now that my ongoin homage project can cont again.

Is this an ETA or ST ?
Is the movement in the case it just the case by itself ?

Glad to hear you have gotten your solution. I personally tried Uncle Goh at K2(Tanjong Katong Complex) to fix mine as i visit there on and off to see new seiko watches or to change straps. Friendly uncle and price is quite reasonable given that I am fixing my ETA movt then(Getting another one is too ex).

But ofc if your're referring to the asian 6497(By seagull), then its probably advisable to just purchase a new movement and switch it than repairing it.
