I will never buy them any luxury watch.

to me; this is something they have to earn for themselves, not through or from parents.

If I really want to buy them; it will be when they settle down, have a family. I will then get them a nice DJ.

by giving them something of that value at a young age; it's as good as telling them papa is rich, I can live off him. sorry but it's just me and my mindset.

For me, they should be happy I buy them a 15 bucks casio . The most expsensive watch I ever got was a 100 bucks swatch when I was in Secondary. All the G-shocks, Baby G and stuff were out of my reach. In my time, a GUESS watch was already a big hooha :P

Not being miser (assuming I can afford haha), but I personnally feel that a lot of kids are being spoilt at a young age. such that they no longer understand the value of 'money' as well as differntiating between needs and luxury.

e.g. at a young age, already always eating at restaurants, must have air-con, always take taxis, ipad, mobile, ps3, etc etc.

if they want a rolex/tag/omega/IWC, work for one just like daddy and mummy
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........

I will not buy any watches for my children. They will not learn to treasure the watches till they earn it for themselves. Anyway, I try not to poison them too. Heehee!

                        Casio G-Shock

Wow...it seems like Casio G-shock is the hot favorite for most of the bros here (for their kids I mean). Their branding seems to be pretty well entrenched here. Am surprised no one mentioned Swatch, which was pretty popular in my younger days. I wouldn't mind getting a Swatch for my kids, designs are pretty cool and it's swiss :P

Just my thought and I'm doing that..
I did just that When my baby (first and only) was born, i set in place things that will assure her the only 3 things that will be presented to her when she comes of age. A good education (edusave topup + balance); a good watch (Lange); and a good writing instrument (Montegrappa)
