Hi, just thinking, since most of you are watch lovers, what first decent watch would you buy for your son or daughter when they reach, say secondary school or college? How about when they graduate from university? Would be good to share your experience or plans for your kids. I remembered my dad bought me a Tissot watch when i was in Pri 6, which unfortunately i trashed and lost in secondary school. In University, he got me my first luxury watch - a Tag Heuer, which i still have today and still wear it once in a while!

So tempted to say PP based on thread title...hahaha
But seriously, I think I will leave it to my child to decide what to wear during the school days, kids may like to follow trends, enjoy changing watches etc, like I did when I was in school....but I think I have my mind set on a Rolex for the 21st birthday present (unless something else is requested by the child)

When my child reach collage or poly..the 1st decent watch i get is most prob a rolex sport model or a pam...

Yes my daughter got a flik flak as well for now but I think she'll out grow in secondary school. I think G-shock is a great all rounder watch which i think most kids would wear but any other luxury brand you reckon is good for keeps? I think Omega would be good for university (and Rolex for graduation!)

I got a 6694 as my first rolex, still with me. So maybe im biased, but rolex seems like a good watch. Maybe when they are older, set a budget aside, and take them watch shopping. that way, they will pick out something they like, and have real attachment to the watch.
Just my thoughts.Currently wearing:

Blue 6694
Seiko SD-lookalike

I think a rolex at 21 is still too young and they may not understand nor place a good worth on it due to their immaturity.
I have seen a rich indonesian boy at P5 (though 12 years old) wear a submariner.....
I think that is RIDICULOUS!
Child should learn to earn his own keep.
Saying that though, i may get a Rolex for his/her wedding - a defining moment of maturity...
Should u still need an answer for child:
Primary school - swatch
Secondary school - Timex/Seiko
Tertiary - Seiko
Graduation - Max i will give is a Tag Heuer or a BALL watch... something that he will learn from before moving on to other watchesCurrently own:
Rolex Explorer 2 Black Dial 16570
Rolex Precision 6694 (Manual winding)
Blue Dial/Silver Markers
Seiko SNZG15K1
Ball EMII Diver green inner bezel!
Stowa Marine Original (White dial)
Wishlist:
Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic PAM 392 42mm
(gone and missing them)
Omega Seamaster 2254.50
Breitling Colt GMT (Black dial)
