Anyway, back to this topic. Like what bro K83 said, be humble.
I travel a lot and many at times, Singaporeans tend to be like that as well. Especially in Malaysia, sometimes said pretty loud this one cheap, that one cheap.
Just said it in our heart please... and our friends across the bridge will feel better. After all, we were once a family.
BTW, I'm a Singaporean hor, not a Malaysian. No offence ok.
i travel alot too but within south east asia region only...so far i have not came across the so-called 'ugly singaporean' attitude before...hahahaha....
When i travel i usually do not comment aloud .....do not want to be easy target for potiental robbers...
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak
Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen
When I go to less developed countries, I dress down and shut my mouth and blend in with the locals. Nobody knows I am a Singapore Lang until I show my red passport. You'll be asking for trouble if you wanna show how "first world" you are by wearing branded clothings and expensive watches.

quite true to be honest; but depends on the person. some of them love to show off, and inadvertently attract unnecessary attention.

and when people ask where you are from, just say some random country that is about on par with the country you are visiting .
