Am given 8000 smackeroos to play with as a wedding gift

Any recommendations as to what one can/ should buy?

Watches are soooo pricey nowadays.

I've a few rollies and pannies so went looking for a blancpain but those things are seriously expensive! Even for a no-frills time n date function fifty fathoms, it'd be way way out of budget!

Day-umm! My other idea was to buy an all-gold rollie for fun. Again, no joy.

Any suggestions? I'm not v keen on another rollie/pam

8k can't touch a new blancpain and for the special occasion should not get used plus I suspect a dress watch would be more suitable.

Go shopping at the AD and look. Maybe an iwc?

Nice bro feilong ... While the movements are only highly modified Valjoux 7750 (and not "in-house"), the finishings and attention to details in the Portuguese Chronos certainly make them among the nicer timepieces in that price range IMHO.
