i couldnt agree more with an earlier post that since you have dress watches it means that that will always be a direction/theme that you are inclined to...

You shld obtain a rolex sports model watch which is cheaper ... say the sub date and then see how often you wear it first. Once you know that you can take the change then sell ALL your dress watches at knock down prices hahah, that way it all gets sold, you increase the forum awareness and also get to RENEW your collection hahaha

just joking, btw, i believe you mentioned earlier in other posts that you already have an explorer ii right? well that in a way is part of the sports line up too and yea i love the explorer ii
      Currently own:

I feel that it is an individual preference. So what is yours? If I have as much moolah as you, I will (like what was earlier said) choose "rojak", as in "mixed brands and models". I have previously created a thread to discuss this thing on "theme", and you had also participated.

Personally, my preference will be to collect every brand's theme watch. For example, if the Daytona is ROLEX's "theme" watch, then I will have one. If the luminor, manual wind series is Panerai's "theme" watch, I will collect one of the models. If the cockpit series is Breitling's "theme" watch, I will do the same. Followed by other brands like A. Lange, AP, Ball, B&M, Blancpain, Carl F. Bucherer, Cartier, Chopard, Citizen, Corum, Chronoswiss, Davosa, FP Journe, Fortis, FM, Frederique Constant, GP, Glycine, Hamilton, Hublot, IWC, JLC, Longines, Louis Erard, Luminox, Maurice Lacroix, Mont Blanc, Moser, Omega, Oris, PP, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Sinn, Tag Heuer, Tissot, Tudor, UN, VC and Zenith.

        Oops! I got greedy..

Given enough resources, I would say rolex rojak. With theme like vintage.

The thing is if there is a good condition set at good price that you like, buy.

Nicer to have variation. Newer pieces can wait as they are always there.
Audemars Piguet Ball Bell&Ross Cartier IWC Longines Omega Panerai Rolex Sinn Tissot

Wanted to add PP but bo lui

Why don't you collect to the theme of Rolex "sports models"?

That way, can collect both sub and daytona and all the other sports model....also harder to complete and keep you interested in the collection longer.....just my humble opinion.

most people who know me know that im into dress model watch. im thinking of changing my direction of collecting rolex watch.

do you think it is a good idea to just concentrate just on one particular series of sports model? im looking @ either a sub collection or daytona collection. do note that only SS model is going to be the only type of material im looking at.

do express your view and/or opinion on this subject model. thank you
But do you really like all of the subs or daytona in that collection? If not, I think you are wasting time and monies as you will be collecting just for the sale of making a collection.
I think you have to ask what watch/watches you really like first. Example, if you recognise that you actually like a PP5712, a Rolex 16520, a 1665, Omega Ploprof etc, then what's the use of concentrating on a collection of a particular series. Somemore if you don't really like the watches, you will end up not wearing them, and wearing more often than not, the particular model of that series most of the time. When that happens, the ignored models are no better than very expensive paperweights/ desk decors.

three times is enemy action and
over 600 is clearly the work of an ancient Sumerian demon or some sh*t

For me, I guess one of each would be better. If all of each, too hard core I feel.

As I'm inclined towards Sports watches, I guess I would move in the direction of sports models of various brands thereafter.

But of course it's your call in the end.

                Happy collecting!
