for the longines buyer it's abit ridiculous

for omega buyer i think if the person wanna pay by monthly installment,he should look for a shop that does that or withdraw the $$ from credit card and back back the bank monthly.

End of the day, everyone wants to try their luck. Buyers want lower price, seller wants higher price. As a result, having people come to take a look and offer you a price, is part and parcel of trading.

It is only human in us. Most importantly, communicate properly to rid off any misunderstanding. Be patient and respect each other. If one intends to ask for easy payment, it should have been conveyed to the seller before meeting up. This is to manage expectations. If the seller wants to meet up, then there is room for negotiation. If not, then it saves both parties' time.

And if one wants to make any offer, do it first before meeting up. A bit of bargaining can still take place when both parties meet, if there is disparity in the descriptions of the watch, but the price will not change much, or even at all. If this is communicated before the meet-up, it will likely avoid/prevent unnecessary conflict/unhappiness.

Another point for buyer is to please read and remember what you are buying before approaching the seller. As long as sufficient facts on the item are posted, don't waste each other's time to meet up, to realise that the item is not the color/size/design you want! This is VERY !

it can be abit tedious but relax, treat the counteroffer as it is, a counteroffer. if you are not agreeable, just reject the counteroffer firmly and politely...

but i don't understand why people still use these "tactics" (if you can call such behaviour a tactic).

i agree i too, will always ask for the "best price" or try to make a offer that I think is reasonable and hope to compromise with the seller and meet at a price inbetween.

but like i said, i don't understand those people who try to offer less than a third of your asking price or ask for installment plans. what security do we have over our debtors? can we take their laptop or computers as a form of security then return it to them once they've paid for their watch? i don't think so and even if we could, why would we? so to all you guys interested in getting a nice time piece for yourself, please just save up or buy from a shop that accepts installments and stop pushing your luck on forums. look, i really hate to say this but if you think you need installments or a much lower price i really don't think you are ready to get the watch. i'm not trying to say i have made it, (or that i have money and you don't) but i applied this to myself about 5-6 years ago when i dreamt of owning that panerai and even thought about paying by installments at hour glass. looking back at it, i'm pretty glad i didn't.

Please keep in mind most* of us here are Singaporean's who live and die by the motto: "NO MONEY NO TALK" (*most, not all so please don't flame me hahaha)

Yes i have buyers come to me and suggested installments.....

I said yes of course, i love it. Pay installment monthly till the full amount is settled then come collect the watch. 100% buyer back out???? you cannot expect i pass you my watch and then you pay at your sweet time, better you take your time and pay me monthly, while i'm still enjoying the 'sold' watch.....haha

Sadly but truly , my friends allow me to pay them in instalments for watches. Of course not the long-term instalment, but payments over few months. Most of them usually earn like $10k-$15k a month type. I, at most, only one-fifth of theirs.. . Wah, if my friends think like you guys I really suck thumb liao.
