WAH!!! MIDNITE out for me.. I made a booking on Friday 11am - 1pm to purchase it with my friend.

Midnite queue sounds fun but old man liao lah.... somemore down with flu since today.. Last nite throat DAMN inflammed.. having finger and blocked nose.. sigh.....

Like it bcos I owned the 1st Gen for 3 mths before my younger like it.. gave it to him.. so nw this is really for me to keep since I like it alot.... hahah

If I get so dependent on it, will let go my NEWLY CASED E90.. (hint hint Darkie)

Lets see how to analyse it differently.... Bro Triton maybe you can share yr view cos I am pretty lost with yr cal.. Do u mean if i recontract, I will not enjoy the discounted monthly rate if I go for iphone??? (if its in the fine print, I may have missed it)

Itwoplus is at S$82.93 x 24mths = S$1,990.32 for two yr contract on plan but tat is regardless whether u sign for iphone or others.. so i don't see y need to factor this..

16GB iPhone gona cost S$208 but apple announced the phone gona cost at US$499 x 1.4 = S$698.60

So to me, simple minded view, they subsidise S$698.60 - S$208.00 = S$490.60.

Am I missing something????

I am planning to get 2 cos I have 2 lines (iTwo plan and a i3Plus plan) and a $500 dollars voucher. Can recontract the i3Plus for free iPhone and use the voucher to offset the iTwo plan recontract.

To me, the HWZ dude's calculation doesnt make sense

I feel that if a buyer gets the iphone on his existing plan, then the price of the plan SHOULD NOT be factored in, its bcos whether you get it or not, its inmaterial.... Bcos whether iphone or not, the line holder STILL PAYS the regular tariffs regardless what.. as he is in need and using the line accordingly.

If one IS GETTING the iphone and signs a line for that sole purpose, then taking the calculation of the monthly tariffs makes sense lah...

For me, its the former, so paying $208 purely for the phone is my damage.
Also, my tariffs is paid by COMPANY and I self-authorise to upgrade my plan.. ahhahahahaha so COMPANY pays for tariffs, I get to enjoy the phone!!

Then you need to factor the iphone + mobile plan for 24mths = the price of the iphone ultimately!
BUT if you ask me, why would 1 be so foolish to do so??? Might as well jump ship altogether mah! Then to have an extra line without fully utilising it!

If you are on Singtel, no longer on contract, then the cost of the iphone is straight forward..
