hmm.... anyways... my 2nd take on this thing....



the 1st sub shld be a fake....
1. trustytime are known for selling fakes (replicas)...
2. the "5" in the "50" mark looks botched
3. i just feel the font in the calender is off...

the 2nd sub...

1. after doing some reading... looks like a 16800 instead of the modern 16610.

seems that there are examples (but i've only seen them on a 16800) of the "5" looking like it does in the pic.... though most of the bezels (16800/16610)i've seen does come with that little tail.. take a look at yr sub and u will know what i mean.... same goes for yr "4" on the "40" mark... it wl look different on yr sub too.

i have some reservations abt the mercedes hour hand.... (this one i dun have pics to explain)... plus the thing abt the thick minute hand i pointed out earlier.... but then....



the 1st YM looks fake from the pic...
1. the dial, the font, the date window, the "swiss made"...

the 2nd YM looks ok to me....
1. 16623 model

Here's 1 more...but firstly,I think the challenge isn't really there la. Coz there are some really gd 1s I want to use but they are watermarked and this means the answer is obvious. ARHH

Actually I wanted to state this at the start. Ignoring the fact of the watermarks and plastic wrappings or link code,can you still tell the diff? Simply because,if someone were to hand you a fake,there won't be the watermarks and plastic wrappings.

But,well done ricnas on the second round. First round you were wrong on the sub. Hehe. Very precise and accurate job I would say,just 1 more thing to add about the difference. Look carefully at the font of the fake and original submariner,the fake fonts are slightly bolder/thicker while the original 1 is just nice.

I think the DJ and YM was pretty obvious,the submariner was alittle big of a challenge.

basically, for DJs only, i look for the fluted bezel.
fakes would normally have a bit wider bezel and a little bit coarse unlike ours! Hee hee..
Second is of course the date window.
