警方：是基于安全考量
警方发言人针对这事件说，初步调查显示，警方当时在武吉知马路进行救援行动及疏导交通的工作时，见到一名男 子（吴庆顺）站在马路上拍照。

发言人指出，该名男子当时站在马路中间半积水的阴沟洞上拍照，所处位置情况有些危险。

基于安全考量，警员劝男子离开路堤，移到路边一处较安全的地方，然而男子却没有这样做，走到其他地点继续拍 照，警员屡劝不听。

由于男子阻碍了警员执勤，并对自身及他人的安全构成威胁，警员决定制伏他，将他带他到更安全的地方，但由于 男子挣扎，警方才因此用手铐将他铐住。

发言人说，在证实了摄记的身份并作出了评估、确保救援工作不会受到影响后，警员当场释放摄记。

警方吁请公众和警方保持合作。任何阻碍警员办公者，将会在妨碍公务员执行任务的罪名下被提控。妨碍公务员执 行任务者，一旦罪成，将被判坐牢最长3年，或被罚款高达2500元，或两者兼施。
