I attended the last gathering and was delighted by how it was planned in terms of the location (centralised), ambience (cool, comfortable, spacious, conducive, private enough), and nice, simple and delicious food (buffet style). Members and friends were free to roam and mingle around to chat, joke and 'poke' one another. What I felt lacking was that there was no planned programme within the gathering and after an hour or two of mingling around, some might have gotten bored/tired. This was also because the gathering was over few hours long, right?
Some planned programme within the event may be a short talk about horology/watch-related topic (short one), then followed by Q&A so what may be asked online may be carried out in the real world, with the mods and some learned members sharing, 'live'. Topics can be of any nature related to watches. Or it may also be some form of discussion. One example I thought of was a discussion about how the watch ADs and PIs function, and how the pricing of watches come about. The mods may scan through the forum on common topics that were often discussed repeatedly, and choose and modify from there.
The gathering may even be "timed":
- Arrival of guests: 7pm
- Cockail-cum-orgy : 7.30pm
- Dinner: 7.50-8.40pm
- Talk/discussion: 8.50-9.30 (include Q&A)
- Free for all: 9.30-end
Just some suggestions only.
Tx.

SG-ROC 3rd Anniversary Attendees
Hi all,
as the date is pretty close, likely 12 Jun 2010. Location : TBA. Hopefully same as last year.
please state if you like to attend and if any family members/friends are coming with you.
we need an indicative number so that we can decide the place to book, amount of food to cater, door gifts, mystery prizes - primarily for rolex owners. i will be giving out at least 1 item. if there are panerai lovers attending, there could be prizes to cater to your taste as well.
