yup, many stories like that. when you get a winfall like that you start to have frinds that you never had, you start to throw money to get your way, you gamble more thinking that you will win even more $$$, you make silly investments, you live life as if there was no tmr, and the list goes on.

those who become arrogant after winning usually no good, because they must remember that their wealth was not earnt, but WON, therefore if anything people can always say that they were just lucky (according to the odds they were very lucky)

Yeah lor...so it's more about yourself la. Must still remain humble and dun splurge! Buying bigger house and car I am ok with, throwing money away at certain places like casinos I never recommend

if i had won, i go buy a many property for my family and one with a fully equipped workshop so that i can go and modify cars (or anything) in my own backyard
car to me not so important, maybe go and buy preowned car to drive, just to get from A to B, no need maybach or RR.

put some of the money investing (active investing), and put aside some for daily use (not much), rest can go and sit in the bank.

While in the mean time, I can go and see what business good to go and do

as for casino, I dont gamble so no biggie for me

in terms of growth, not so good, shares better for short term, but the risk is there, and you as an investor must be aware of it.
Property is only good because at the end of the day, no matter what situation the economy is in, you need a house, and nothing is ever going to be as good as having your own home.

For me, given the finances I will invest a good solid sum into shares/stocks/currency, and chuck the rest into property be it residential or investment property.

True of course...shares are better in short term...more risk involved of course
