    Don't know which brand to buy... Any recommendation? I can get Laco S$680, Steinhart S$620

    for this particular model, I would say go for Laco, the original 5s. Steinhart is merely making homages or rather, whatever is popular out there at the moment.

    I am hoping they snap out of this soon.

            there are 2 model for laco, one with date(ETA 2824), one without date (Miyota movement). Which one should go about it?

              For me i will go for the dateless model....more historically correct and look much nicer...

                  Go for the Laco without date bro! As mentioned by our Pilot bros, its more historically accurate to the original dial. The Miyota is cheaper also and yet still reliable!
                  I have owned Steinhart before and while the build quality is very good and robust, Laco has pedigree on its side.

                  I think its time for us to start an unofficial 'Pilot' club for pilot watch lovers, hehe...

                            Thanks for sharing, I was wondering what movie it was.
                            As for the robustness of the Miyota movement, both Laco Type A & B watches I own use the Miyota movement and no issues with them at all, it's just that there is no hacking function.
                            Only issue is the Miyota movement Lacos are sold out for now...
