THREE foreign nationals, caught cheating at the roulette tables of Resorts World Sentosa's casino, were arrested last Saturday.
The trio - a Spaniard and two Frenchmen, between the ages of 46 and 64 - almost made off with $13,400 in winnings.
Investigations revealed that the three men had entered the casino on several occasions in the past two weeks. They were all on social visit passes.
On March 26, one of them placed a bet at the roulette table after the result was known. But he left the table without collecting his bet nor his winnings when he realised his act had been spotted by a fellow gamer.
Last Friday and Saturday, the men again entered the casino and used the same trick - placing a bet after the result had been shown - on two separate occasions at the roulette tables.
This time, they were paid winnings amounting to $13,400 by the dealers. But their acts were detected by the casino surveillance and they were detained and referred to the police.
