Otherwise we should start running business under charities name and be tax free.

I was at church Sunday and the pastor was asking people
to take care of the cushion for kneeling. It cost 20k and should
    last as long as possible.

Contrast with modern style entity which are talking in millions.
Bringing in tax free revenue size of listed companies.

That's why they should be closely monitored.
Given opportunity, there is always chance of corruption.

If they crossed the line into commercial entity, they should
be taxed. Or else there will be a loophole to exploite.
Nevermind if their members are huge and powerful.

All entities have equal risk regardless of cause, religion, traditional, modern.
    I agree wholely.
I wonder how much revenue these mega churches generate...but if they can afford $310million!!! (And tt's not the only thing they have INVESTED in I'm sure, not i use the word invested, not spent or saved)...I'm sure their revenues trump some listed co.

i always have no idea why they need to have offices in suntec? in the city? prime EXPENSIVE area ?

wont the money be better spent elsewhere ? do charity or something ?

            they had completely "commercialise" christianity...

gone are the days where i went to church in a old looking and broken wooden premises, no electrical guitar, no amps, just piano and guitars (if heng) and the old looking pastor preaching.
matter of factly, i prefer the old setting...

the last time i went to chc i cant help it but felt like i was in a cult.

not flaming here and i wish to start no flame wars with any christians!

but this is my personal feeling towards CHC, not towards the religion nor any other church in SG.

Maybe next time they can also invest in RWS?

Heard the founder stays in a lush district 9 condo. Some other more traditional church workers (pastors) I know stay in the church.

              How large is the difference.

I think is was only less than 10 years ago that they also spent hundreds of millions to buy their 'ship' at Jurong West. Our Jack is a member and so is Foyce.
