1: Patek 5146g BNIB at mid 30k plus

2: VC Amercian 1921 LNIB at mid 20k plus

3: Lange 1 rose gold LNIB servicing done in 2003 but no warr liao at 22k

4: Lange 1 white gold LNIB with MOP dial but no more warr liao at mid 20k plus

5: Lange 1 any material except plat BNIB at 27k

your price range is about 10k from lange to patek. very wide. if you want a watch that everyone knows, go patek. as its brand is more established than lange. then again, im not keen on patek under 40mm size watch.

i have been looking @ lange 1 for 1 month already. undecided. reason - a tad too small compared to grand lange. you lose about 10k for a lange bnib should you decide to sell.

No; 3, 4 and 5 out for me as i feel its abit too expensive, at that kind of price , i can get a newer lange 1 with the new movement , service in 2003 means its due for servicing again , and servicing a lange is no joke , heard its more ex than PP , if you compare entry level Lange with entry leval PP , 5 out cos , like what bro triton say , you lose too much if buy brand new .

Tough choice leh...I rather go for a preowned 5146g if I can find?

Buying BNIB in any case you sure lose a few k when u open up the box....if I m forced to choice either 1..I would get the Patek.

yes i agree with u on the special material part for dress watch, so all the choices i choose r precious metals i think only a few brands stainless steel dress watch can make it

bro triton, 10k? i definately will not wish for that haha. bro brabus lange 1 got old or new movement 1? i still dono yah u r right i should consider the servicing cost. pai sei to all for taking so much of your time for advice as me not have the money to choose 1 so have to think carefully

For 20K+ you can get a brand new Daytona half gold with black mother of pearl dial + diamonds.
My friend bought one last month, real beauty and every mother of pearl dial is different unique one of a kind!

Alternatively for 28K to 30K you can buy a brand new day date WG or RG!

was looking @ a YG lange 1 which is about 30K. then i saw a YG one selling @ hobbylink @ 23k. put there for 2 weeks not moving. that is why i tell u the estimate 'loss' is 10k.

Lange is good craftmanship, but resale not so good. If like, go preown. New movement is automatic while old Lange are hand-winding.

VC same story. No strong on resale. Brand is good, just not so mainstream.

PP is stronger on resale but entry level higher too.

If you want o buy something you like, all 5 will not disappoint. If resale value is most important, stick to PP or Rolex and some SE/vintage Pams.

If I have 30K to spend, I will look for a full box/paper 1655/1665/5512 or save more for a Paul Newman Daytona. (If resale value is most important)

Or try to hunt for a Pam 339.
