have you consider upgrading to a portable rig when you are out and about? I used to run ipod (/w LOD) > mini^3 > ER4S

As for my home rig..... ive kinda given up as the itch to upgrade and scrutinise the setup.

Currently for home, im running mbp > alienDAC (upgrading to y1 or y2) > sa740 (upgraded caps; may consider rebuild amp) > unsure of speaker set to build

I prefer to DIY my own audio components. Commercial dont cut it sometimes

My friend has the y1 and the build/sound quality will easily beat those DAC costing 10x. Cheap too at US$220 shipped from CONUS.

The future HT systmwill be design similar to just a stand alone Soundbar u own..I can bet u bro Add a Sub for the thundering bass...u r all set to go Whaaa...I aslo fond of ATC boxiness old school. But due to they power hunger,I never dare pull trigger on it. Fortunately ,those BBC monitor I own does all I need & sound just to my liking. I remember my Audiospace Mini galaxy was my replacement of the aging Antique Sound Lab that brokedown. Just cannot resist the all white design.Look so cute sure to please the wife It toocame wif gain control. Tube use were EL84 & 12Ax7 on pre stage.

Pls post some pic. of yours bro.

What mod you have on your ipod? I recognise the rear logo from somewhere, but have never tried it.

As for my DAC, the alien is slow as hell. I'm tempted to try the y2, as i feel the y2 has more potential soundwise.

Nowadays my portable rig is much simpler; consisting of just my iphone. dont really listen to music on the go anymore.

Me too. Started off from Shure E2C, then Shure 530.
Have a pair of UE Super Fi 3 for gym use.

But Shure not quite lasting, my E2C died, then my 530 cable cracked. Distro quoted at minimal repair charge of S$300, so I gave it up.

Got myself a pair of Westone UM3X. Now, that's a good IEM. Enjoying it still!
