Bingo! I always thought why we don't dress up to go out, like in Europe and Japan.

I wouldn't step into a posh restaurant/shop if I am not dressed appropriately, out of respect for the image of the shop as well as the other customers.

Read today's ST, I agree with the writer about the blogger who ask OCBC for birthday cake issue. Apart from having to serve hundreds of customers who are there queueing up for their needs, this idoit lady think it is funny and part of the service staff's job to amuse her low EQ of taking the ad too literal. Think...how many people are held up in the Q while the staff attend to her nonsense. Imagine, the heavy responsibility of the counter staff who carefully serve so many people cos it concerns money etc and then this iiot came and expect to be made happier on her birthday. I say....please get a life and don't make others suffer for your stupidity!

Sometimes saleperson do have bad dayz (esp girls, no offends to lady members here), maybe before you he/she served a nasty customer who only see but never buy, or it was a long day for him/her... if I am you, if service no good, I don't buy, if I really have to buy, i will buy it with another salesperson in front him/her... cheers!

Cheers. Just cut some slack whether you are customer or sales and I think it will be a good experience for both. I get annoyed too when I ask about the price about certain models and the reply is "It's very expensive!" Last time, I would just get annoyed and walk out. Now, I will reply...."How expensive? Let me know so I can consider." If by 5 minutes I still think I am getting bad service, then I will take leave. There were some who turn out to be real good after the first line. Sometimes, it's just that some sales are new and not exposed to all kinds of customers.

              Bro,
Your dressing seems ok so I don't think her reaction is anything to do with dressing. She stone is most likely the way many sales are. Some will follow you and ask a lot trying to help you. Some will just stand there and let you see all you like. If you want something, then they will come and help. So, don't thing you were sloppy and don't think she was deliberately rude.

the worst experience I ever had was in HK,that first line from the salesgirl is "this item is very expensive, please do not touch it,if it's damage i doubt you will be able to pay"LOL?

My experience was a different one. I was greeted by the sale assistant "Thank you, hope to see you again" even though i didnt buy any thing from them.

Aiyo...... Singapore is famous for poor service lah . Even our ah GOH also said that Singaporean do not have the DNA for service . Plenty of room for improvement.

Wearing branded goods does not necessarily means you deserve good service. This mentality is wrong. Wearing all these designer & luxury stuffs are more of self satisfaction & achievement, IMHO.

Now that is just plain rude and quite frankly, reflects on her upbringing or rather the lack of one

All the designer & luxury goods here mean nothing at all. They are so common. Everyone is RICH enough to buy. It's only a question of:
                        1. If you are willing to pay.
                        2. If you are prepared to pay.
                        3. If you think it's worth to pay.
                        4. If you think it's necessary to pay.
                        5. If you think you need to pay.

Thus, do not have the impression that you'll be look up upon if you are cladded with designer stuff from head to toe. You may look out of place & having bad taste with poor co-ordination

then you should continue to molest the item on display, and then ask for a new one so that you can finalise the purchase .

my ah neh lecturer once went to HK, and the
HK SA said in cantonese: "i wonder if can afford anot.... ask for price!?"
ah neh in cantonese: "yeah, your price is above market.... you think i stupid ah"

look = priceless . According to my lecturer.

                            like that.

seriously it all comes down to attitude and thinking.

not everyone will go in and just buy a few K watch without looking for a while comparing models first.

so the person who view now may not buy now or even in a month's time.

if the service is bad, they will just lose my sale thats all. afterall there are many other shops and SAs.

if they just want to "hun re ji", its their choice. they don't want to think far, its their choice.
