Nowadays, "oversight" is the common word to replace "mistake", "error". Sorry, it was not a mistake, there was no error, it was an "oversight".
Best of all in this case, the donors are penalised for this "oversight" - overcharged by 100% and have to go through the trouble of calling their respective ISP to sort out the details etc. Should Mediacorp do the right time by informing the ISP to refund the extra charged amount to the donors?

Clarification on President's Star Charity telepoll line

SINGAPORE : MediaCorp said on Thursday some trailers for the President's Star Charity reflected the wrong donation amount for a telepoll line.
In a statement, the company said some of the show's trailers aired between September 17 and October 11 reflected the wrong donation amount for the 1900-112-8822 telepoll line. It should have been S$20 instead of S$10.
MediaCorp said the fault was rectified before the broadcast of the President's Star Charity Show on October 11.
It added the trailers with the wrong donation amount were also stopped before the show. The telepoll numbers reflected during the "live" telecast were correct.
Viewers who may have responded to the earlier trailers to make a S$10 donation but were subsequently billed S$20 may contact their respective telephone service providers for help in adjusting the donation amount.
Those who have been wrongly billed, but have decided to increase the value of their donation need not take further action.
MediaCorp's Channel 5 said it sincerely apologises for this oversight, and thanks all viewers for their generous support of the President's Star Charity Show. - CNA /ls
