Why do people wear fake watches?

I feel like trying wearing fake watch to work. but the quality of fake watch is really disappointing. Hence give up the idea.

I know of colleagues from China, who wears the fake while keeping the real one at home. I think its a matter of it being too precious to him to wear the real deal.

I cannot comprehend why should anyone buy fakes.

I've switched from buying brand new to pre-owned as I have the habit to flip my watches. Particularly for Rolex and AP, the value is always there and the losses I incur from flipping, often than not, is even less than the cost of buying a fake.

Tbh fakes are much more expensive than real watches when you take into account resale - you'll never get your money back on a fake but you can usually get more than you paid for a Rolex after a couple of years, if you buy right.
