for those who kena con by the watch dealer by additional surcharge.....like 3% or whatever.....kindly report this to the credit card company.
    Yep ! U guys r right !
Installment plan is definitely interest free but there will still b a 3% CC Charge + 4~6% 1 time Admin Charge if the CC Bank you use hv no obligation tied with Watch Arena.
That's what told by the Watch Arena Sale Manger & CC Banking side.

Found out the following facts about WA's instalment plan:

            - it is not interest free
            - only UOB and Diners are accepted for instalment plan
            - price is fixed with no discount if payment is made by credit card (cc)
            - there will be a surcharge of 3.5% of sell price if cc payment in instalment
            - there will be a surcharge of 3% of sell price is cc payment w/o instalment
            - prices u see on their web are mostly prices by cash payment only
            - expect the prices to be higher when u are paying by cc
            - max instalment period is 12mths
            - can pay 6mths also

            Example: http://www.watcharena.com.sg/details...=161&cat=ROLEX

            - you see a daytona (click the link) selling at $15,500
            - that may be the price only when pay cash, and may hv discount
            - if pay by cc, price may be $16,000 w/o discount
            - if pay by cc instalment, add 3.5% to $16,000 = $16,560
            - if pay $16,560 in 12mths, you'll pay $1,380/mth
            - if pay by cc w/o instalment, add 3% = $16,480

            Happy shopping!

The difference is if you are paying in cc instalments, you pay higher interest, i.e. 3.5%. If you are paying full with cc, then you pay a lower interest rate of 3%. So, nothing to wow about actually.

I share yr sentiments bro. In fact it is not new with grey dealers. Hobbylink is similar. IIRC, they, too, have cc instalment scheme and depending on length of payment, interest rates ranged from 4% to 6%.

Usually when i buy , i will be quoted a price base on cash payment....and if i choose to pay by credit card, just add 3pct to it. and if i choose to pay via instalment plan, will have to add accordingly depending on the tenor (6mth/12mth/24mth).... the total then divided by the tenor will be what i need to pay each month. (if i rem correctly, u can do 24mth using DBS at THG)

depending on how one looks at it....some will say that by adding the additonal charge means its not interest free....but for the banks, they look at it as a admin fee to give us the flexibility of paying in instalments while they the merchandiser off 1 time....

                        cheers

eg. a great deal could be a iwc 3717 like new 2 months old at $4,600... doing a 24month plan its like less than $200 a month for it a lot more rolexes and APs for sale too than listed on the site.

                            Hi all,

                            this is my first post..

i visited WA recently and was told by Steven that there is no instalment plan for any cards?

                            are these new changes?

coming back on some questions and such...

                              Hi all

Sorry I posted and then didn’t come by for awhile. Let me answer some of the posts since…

                              Q) is there a price difference, meaning pay more for instalment plan and less if pay cash?
                              A) Probably there is but end of day just look at the final price and ask if you’re happy with it.

                              Q) promoting watch arena?
                              A) hey exxondus I take it that you meant this in a jokey manner but maybe hinting as well that it may be the case? I gain absolutely NOTHING from my recommendation of watch arena. I have done a few good deals for me and my friends and that’s why I wanted to share with the bros here. I think the other bank cards dun have but do call them and check.

                              Q) Darkangel: u from WA?
                              A) I am from my father and mother. Neither of them have W or A in their intials Jokes aside, nope.

                              Thanks Andrew and Democritus

                              Q) 3717 at 4.6k
                              A) I actually dealt with him on other pieces and I know their rolex and AP pricing and they are good as far as I know. WA also has done good prices for other less prominent brands and so I just whack the IWC coz I thought more bros eyeing these pieces but sorry lah, I dunno the prices of the IWCs. It may not be a good price.

                              Q) not interest free
                              A) sorry bros, I didn’t know. When I spoke to them I had the impression it was interest free. My bad.

                              hope this helps.

                              cheers
