I also target one watch per year, although I have added 3 pieces this year already because I managed to sell 2 from my collection.
I always find myself checking into watch forum to research more about the long list of watches I have in mind as future acquisitions between my purchases.
I feel happy if my FS piece found its new home as it will be time for me to pull the trigger for one of those that I am aiming to get.
I am pretty much focused on the ones I have in mind and would rarely settle for alternatives even if it is a very good offer.

let's see.... I do, and the buying only makes it worse
Been a couple of years since I bought myself another watch - and what do you know... ended up buying 4 watches in 6 weeks recently, one of which is a Casio G-shock that I've been eyeing; then a shop overseas had 20% off so I just grabbed it.

Vitamin M is the root of problem for me too. Bought 4 Rollies and a Pam in 2011. CO making hell of a noise. Made to promise to buy only 1 watch a year starting from 2012. Sigh.My madness so far:
